Biography
My working profession is that of a psychiatrist in private practice near San Francisco. I have reduced my hours of practice in the past few years to allow more time for photography. My favorite recent series are shown here. Doing 'Heavy Metal Monsters' was great fun.
I have recently become very involved in a project of photographing the Homeless in SF. As you might know, SF has a sizeable Homeless population. I initially printed out 40 photo releases thinking that I would never need that many. Currently I have photographed and interviewed 180 individuals. I have made voice recordings of many of the individuals and have incorporated the voice clips into multimedia content on my Homeless website,
HomelessImages.com I have found the project to be extremely satisfying, beyond what I had anticipated. I expect that I will be involved in this work for quite some time and I would hope to eventually publish it.
